Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:• Drive the preparation and execution of the Medical Affairs plan for marketed/pre-launch productsin the Priority/Essential/Early portfolio Asset Group in close alignment with the Global/RegionalMedical strategies & local Country Pharma Organization (CPO) needs.• Strategically prepare and support the launch and commercialization of products through educationof Medical Experts/ Key Stakeholders, and scientific exchanges seeking external insight to shapeNovartis on market and development programs.• Lead, coach, advocate for and develop a team of field Medical associates• Work cross-functionally with other Novartis departments (mainly Marketing, Sales and Value &Access) to develop aligned business plans in pre/post-product launch phases in accordance withlocal health authority guidelines. Co-Lead and Co-Own relevant business.• Seen as a credible medical and scientific expert by internal and external customers and createscientific partnerships forward with healthcare professionals and decision-makers to buildadvocacy.• Assign tasks and TA-specific work to (Field) Medical Managers for the Early Portfolio/Priority/Essential products in an agile way which still ensures deep scientific expertise.• Support other Early Portfolio/Priority/Essential products colleagues in phase I-IV protocol creation,monitoring plan, source document verification, preparation and collect study site documents,education, study drug handling, site initiation and closure etc• Overseeing all operational activities including strategic planning, budgeting, implementing andexecuting scientific projects & activities in compliance with local and international requirements• Having a strategic & practical, x-functional understanding of Early portfolio/Priority/Essential/Mature Brand management.• MLT member and co-driver of Medical Affairs Team success• Works within Integrity and Compliance policies and ensures those around him / her do the same(incl. ensuring local adherence to P3 and local regulations).

In compliance with local functional business requirements:• Timely preparation and quality execution of Medical Affairs plans in alignment with the IPS of theTA• Optimal alignment of key project execution with the Commercial and Value& access team.• Size and quality of country-specific knowledge base.• Quality of contribution in internal and external forums.• Quality of costumer interactions and network building.• Recruitment, development and retention of Top Talents in the country through selection, training,performance management and deployment of appropriate associates
Ideal Background
Education & Qualifications
MD, PharmD or biomedical education. PhD in Health Sciences
Languages
English & Dutch both fluent spoken & written
Experiences
At least 5 years of experience in Medical Affairs
• In-depth understanding of the Dutch Pharma market including key dynamics, competitors, country regulatory and market environments• Pharmaceutical industry experience• Strong medical and scientific bases and agility to transverse the diseases’ arena• Good planning and organizational skills• Strong business acumen, entrepreneurial mindset• Strong communication skills and customer orientation• Good medical and scientific writing skills
